bio

Gilberto Ferreira is a multidisciplinary curator and project manager from São Paulo, now based between Hamburg and Berlin. He’s worked on EU-funded transnational projects at Tanz der Kulturen e.V., co-developing and producing dance performances. With a background in music (UNESP) and cultural management (UNC), he’s been deeply involved in the arts scene. In Brazil, he has been part of the artistic direction of award-winning musiktheater, dance, and music productions at Theatro São Pedro, Projeto GURI, and EMESP, such as Constelações and A Midsummer Night's Dream. As a producer at Theatro Municipal de São Paulo—one of Latin America’s most iconic opera houses—he brought to life diverse artistic projects, including Titã with Balé da Cidade de SP. He also led theatre and dance initiatives curated by Ismael Ivo and produced festivals such as Baixo-Centro and Virada Cultural. His work extends to film, having contributed to projects for the preservation of Brazil’s audiovisual heritage at Cinemateca Brasileira and produced films like Rompecabezas (nominated to the Festival de Cinema Latino-Americano de São Paulo 2020). Now in Hamburg and Berlin, he’s developing new projects and collaborations between Brazilian and German artists.
