Gustavo Ortiz is a singer and songwriter from the countryside of São Paulo, one of the emerging voices of the New MPB. His work highlights the song format, with strong acoustic guitar presence and influences from samba and 60s–70s MPB. Also a writer and graduate in Social Sciences and Anthropology, Ortiz brings poetry, social critique, and everyday imagery to his lyrics.
In 2021, he released the single Porvir, reflecting Brazil's socio-political landscape and earning attention from the press and editorial playlists. In 2025, he released his first EP, Desafogo, on the TRUQ label, produced by Romulo Fróes (Latin Grammy).
