bio

Kleber Nascimento was born in 1991 and grew up in São Paulo/SP, Brazil. At the beginning of his career he worked as a photojournalist (2008) for photo agencies like "Futurapress". Then, between 2010 and 2013, he worked as a camera assistant and DIT on feature film and advertising projects in Brazil. Since 2014, Nascimento has been living in Berlin. In 2019, he received his bachelor's degree in cinematography from Babelsberg Konrad Wolf Film University in Potsdam, where he is currently pursuing his master's degree.

Nascimento is a cinematographer whose work ranges from experimental to historical projects, as fashion and music videos. One of his most recent works, the short film "Staircase" - directed by Friedrich Tiedtk - was nominated for the 2021 German Camera Award (31st Deutscher Kamerapreis). In addition, his latest film "Quarta-Feira" (Ash Wednesday), a Brazilian/German musical produced in Berlin and directed by João Pedro Prado & Bárbara Santos, will have its world premiere at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival 2023 in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino.
