overview

A six-month residency for artists to engage with historical sites of Nazi forced labor in Stuttgart. The program focuses on creating artistic interventions and mediation formats that explore the history of exploitation and its legacy in contemporary social structures.

Format: The residency is 6 months long, which can optionally be split into two phases between July 2026 and June 2027.

Exclusion: Applications from collectives are not possible for this specific residency program.

Objective: To make historical sites of forced labor "readable" again in the urban space through contemporary artistic research and practice.

reward / benefit

€1,300 monthly stipend, free furnished studio, travel expenses reimbursement, €5,000 project funding, and health insurance (for non-EU residents).
